TELEHEALTH MENTORING PROGRAM INVITATION FOR RURAL OREGON PROVIDERS
Quality healthcare everywhere!
TAO believes that telehealth can positively change the way healthcare is delivered. We believe in Oregon’s rural hospitals and clinics. Together we can bring telehealth to the people of rural Oregon. TAO can help you build a successful telehealth program.
TAO is your resource for telehealth success!
TAO since 2001 has offered its services as a resource center for healthcare providers in Oregon. As the interest in telehealth has grown in our rural areas, and the state as a whole, TAO sees the need for mentoring and support growing as well.
Where to begin?
There is no simple “one size fits all” answer that provides all the answers. However the framework for getting started fundamentally is the same. But it needs to be customized to fit your specific needs and involves an investment of time; a sharing of knowledge by those involved with the clinic or hospital and the communities you serve. It involves careful assessment and planning to develop a telehealth service that meets the needs of both providers and the communities they serve; an approach that gives both that sense of ownership and control that is needed for a successful program.
The TAO Telehealth Mentoring Program
The objective of the Telehealth Mentoring Program (TMP) is to enable rural hospitals and clinics to establish and sustain a successful telehealth program. The mentorship program will be delivered on site utilizing both in person sessions and virtual sessions.
On completion of the program a rural hospital or clinic will be able to:
1. Determine their readiness to develop a telehealth program
2. Set forth a plan to develop a telehealth program that includes:
a. an administrative management plan
b. a business model and sustainability plan
c. a technical plan
d. a clinical operational plan
3. Implement the plan
a. select equipment that meets identified needs
b. select clinical providers that meet identified needs
c. identify and train needed staff
d. provide community education about the telehealth program
e. put needed policies and protocols in place
f. develop integrated workflow plans
g. evaluate, reassess and modify all plans as needed
4. Collect and disseminate the programs clinical and fiscal outcomes
Ready, set… go!
